When are the financial results reported?

Compass Group reports its financial results twice a year for the 6 months to 31 March and the year to 30 September. Please see the Financial Calendar for the latest published dates, and you can sign up to our alerts register to receive details of our results announcements.

From 1 April until our Interim Results Announcement (mid May) and from 1 October until our Final Results Announcement (end of November)

What was the initial share price for Compass Group when it returned to the Stock Exchange on 2nd February 2001?

On 29th January 2001, the London Stock Exchange issued a technical release at the end of the day with regard to the demerger and consolidation of listings changes in FTSE Indices as follows: "Based on today's Granada Compass closing price of 692p, the price of Compass Group has been estimated as 482.4p, and the price of Granada estimated as 209.6p. The constituent changes will be implemented from the start of trading on 2 February based on the above prices."

What is Compass Group's policy on political or charitable donations?

Compass Group does not make political donations.
The Group has a limited amount of funds available for appeals, sponsorships and charitable purposes and because we find so many worthy causes seeking support these monies are targeted on specific areas. Letters are forwarded to the General Counsel and Company Secretary at Compass House, Guildford Street, Chertsey, Surrey KT16 9BQ, UK who is responsible for the administration of the policy.

Does Compass Group have an ADR programme?

Compass Group has a sponsored Level 1 ADR programme for which The Bank of New York Mellon acts as Depositary. Each ADR is equivalent to one Compass Group ordinary share. Dividends are paid in US Dollars via the Depositary. Details of the ADR programme are as follows:

What is the ex-dividend date?

The ex-dividend date is a specific date, occurring after the dividend has been declared, after which buyers are no longer entitled to receive the last declared dividend. This is known as going 'ex-dividend' and before this date the shares are said to be 'cum-dividend'. If you buy shares before the ex-dividend date, you are entitled to the recently declared dividend. If you buy shares on or after that date, the previous owner of the shares (and not you) is entitled to the dividend.

What is the dividend record date?

The dividend record date is the date that the Registrar refers to the register of members to prepare the dividend payment. A shareholding must be registered on this date to receive the dividend. 
Compass Group has historically paid dividends on its ordinary shares twice a year.

Does Compass Group offer a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP)?

Yes

Compass Group has introduced a DRIP, provided by Capita IRG Trustees Limited. The DRIP allows eligible shareholders to use the whole of their cash dividend to buy additional shares in the Company, increasing their shareholding. What happens at an AGM?

All shareholders are invited to the Company's AGM at which they have the opportunity to put questions to the board and vote on resolutions. The date of our next AGM will be announced on our Financial Calendar.

When is the next AGM?

The AGM is held normally in February each year at a venue in London. Please see Events Calendar for the latest published dates.

Is it possible to pay my dividends directly into my bank account?

Yes it is possible to have dividends paid directly into your bank account. To initiate this form of payment please complete a Payment of Interest or Dividends Form and return it to our Registrars. Download Request for Payment of Interest or Dividends Form

Who should I contact if I change my name or address?

Please contact our Registrars with any change of address details. If you have moved house please provide both your old and new address. If you have changed your name, please enclose a copy of your marriage certificate, in the case of marriage, or in other cases a copy of the legal document confirming your name change together with your share certificate(s) for amendment. The Registrars can also reissue uncashed dividend cheques (as  necessary) if these are returned to them.

What happens if a Compass Group shareholder has passed away?

Please inform our Registrars by sending a copy of the death certificate together with a certified copy of the Grant of Representation and details of any change of address. The name of the deceased's personal representative will be substituted on the share register while the estate is finalised.

How do I transfer my Compass Group shares to my partner or a member of my family?

To transfer the shares, complete and send a Share Transfer Form to the Registrars. Download the Share Transfer Form. Please read the guidance notes carefully and if you need help completing this form you should contact an advisor.

My share certificate is lost or stolen - what do I do?

Please inform the Registrars immediately . They will send you a form of indemnity for completion before they can issue a replacement certificate. There is a charge for this service.

I don't appear to have received a dividend cheque.

I am acting as executor for a shareholder - what action do I need to take?

Please contact the Registrars and they will be able to assist you with the documentation required.

I am receiving more than one set of information at every mailing. How do I stop this?

The Registrars may have more than one record of your shareholding. To combine several shareholdings please complete the Combination of Share Accounts with the Same Name and send it to the Registrars.
